half-hour Rick Steves Europe TV shows. In historic Dublin youll learn about
the struggle for independence and have a close-up look at the famous Book of
Kells. Traveling south, youll see Waterford crystal created and climb aboard an
authentic famine ship. To the west, the Dingle Peninsula is rich with rolling
pastures and rustic pubs. Youll complete your journey in Northern Ireland,
where passions over fine whiskey, political pride and foot-stomping music
complete this portrait of a remarkable island. In Scotland, you'll visit Islands & Highlands, experience kilts & crumbled castes, look for the Lock Ness Monster & visit the historic capitol city of Edinburgh.

Dublin: We explore the town's thriving Grafton Street,
patriotic jail, and Trinity College with its Book of Kells. We take a side trip
to the prehistoric necropolis of Newgrange, and greet the evening in Temple Bar,
awash with Celtic music and frothy pints of Guinness.

The
Best of South Ireland: Glendalough, Waterford, Kinsale and More:
We find the icons of Ireland strewn along its fascinating south coast:
Waterford's crystal factory; the Kennedy family homestead; and the Dunbrody
famine ship. We also visit the Rock of Cashel and the medieval monastery at
Glendalough.

The
Best of West Ireland: Dingle, Galway and the Aran Islands:
After exploring the rugged and remote Aran Islands, we settle into Galway
and venture into Ireland in the extreme-Dingle Peninsula. Ringing with
traditional music from its rustic pubs, if you'll fall in love with Ireland,
chances are it'll be right here.

Belfast and the Best of Northern Ireland: No trip to Emerald
Isle is complete without a visit to Northern Ireland. We tour bustling Belfast,
sneaking a peek at its politically charged neighborhoods. Then we taste-test
Irish whiskey, scramble over fascinating six-sided rock columns, and stomp our
feet to Irish music in rough-and-tumble Derry.

Scotland's Islands & Highlands: In Scotland, legends of Bonnie Prince Charlie swirl with pipers and kilts around crumbling castles. After tossing a caber (log) at a Scottish clan gathering, we remember Highland massacres. We play hide-and-seek with the Loch Ness Monster, tour a whiskey distillery and take a ferry to sacred Iona.

Edinburgh: Edinburgh is the historical and cultural heart of Scotland. We'll explore the castle, peek at the new parliament, dabble in the local literature, sip a little Scotch, get wrapped up in a kilt and then stow away on Her Majesty's Yacht Britannia.
